Noon report – 3+-inch snowfall in Advisory area to west and southwest

Snow continues to fall over the Chicago area – heaviest snowfall continues across the area south of Interstate-80 close to the Illinois-Indiana state line. Travel is slow over the entire Chicago areas, but especially so south of interstate-80 where in excess of 5-inches has fallen at some locations.

Check the latest weather radar – snow movement continues toward the east-southeast. heaviest snowfall reports have been in the southern counties – Grundy and LaSalle Counties have received between 4 and 5 inches of new snow. Snow coverage will be winding down between 5PM and 7PM this evening from west to east.

As indicated by weather radar the heaviest snowfall before noon was in Ogle, Lee, LaSalle, and Livingston Counties where 3-inches or more had been observed at several locations. The heaviest snow area at noon was swinging to the east-southeast – well south of Interstate-80 heading for the Illinois-Indiana state line.
