Portions of Lakeshore Drive between Fullerton and Diversey had standing water at 9:10PM and might have been impassable at least at that time.

The Chicago National Weather Service Office has updated the Flash Flood Warning that now includes east-central Cook County in Illinois as well as northern Lake and central Porter Counties in northwestern Indiana.

 

Thunderstorms with heavy rain continue to develop in extreme southeastern Cook County and move into Lake and Porter County Indiana. Rainfall of up to an inch/hour is and will continue to occur in some of the strongest storms as they track southeastward over the next few hours.

 

Runoff from this excessive rainfall will has caused and will continue to cause flooding of numerous roads and viaducts across the warned area.
