No more monkeying around. We need some real summer weather!
Today will be the 7th straight day with below average temperatures. Last July we did not have a single day below average but this year 14 of 28 days so far this month have missed the average mark for highs. It felt like fall this past weekend with highs 15-20° below average. It was one of the top 10 coldest July weekends ever for Chicago. Parts of interior Alaska were actually warmer than here on Saturday. The warmest day of this week should be Wednesday when we top out near 80°but that is still 4° below average.
The longer range forecasts are keeping it cool through nearly the middle of August. The Climate Prediction Center’s 8 to 14 day forecast has most of the country outlooked for below average temperatures, including the entire midwest.
