Flash Flood Warnings in effect until 11:30AM this Wednesday morning for counties in northeast Illinois


The Chicago national Weather Service Forecast Office has issued Flash Flood Warnings for Cook, Lake, Eastern Boone, northern DuPage, and northeast Kane Counties until 11:30AM this morning.


Repeated thunderstorms passing over the above mentioned counties overnight have resulted in very heavy 3 to 6-inch rainfall totals with subsequent flash flooding. Following are a few of affected cities and surrounding areas:

Chicago, Algonquin, Arlington Heights, Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Deerfield, Des Plaines, Evanston, Fox Lake, Gages Lake, Glencoe, Glenview, Grays Lake, Gurnee, Harvard, Highland Park, Addison, Berwyn, Carpentersville, Cicero, East Dundee, Elgin, Elmhurst, Forest Park, Franklin Park, Harwood Heights, Lincoln Park, Maywood, Montrose harbor, and Navy Pier.


Heaviest rainfall reports so far have been in McHenry County…


East side of Cary…two reports…5.29 inches and 6.15 inches

Woodstock…two reports…2.79 inches and 4.07 inches

Algonquin….2.79 inches
