Here’s the very latest on the Winter storm that is expected to roll into Chicago on Tuesday.
-A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for portions of western and central Illinois. Cities included in the Winter Storm Watch are Peoria, Bloomington, Moline and Quincy.
-A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for portions of northern Indiana and southern Michigan. Cities included in the Winter Storm Watch are Michigan City, South Bend, Fort Wayne, Kalamazoo and Detroit.
-This Winter Storm Watch does not include Chicago or northeast Illinois at this time.
-Tuesday’s Winter storm is easily a much more impressive system than last Thursday’s in term of strength and moisture. The big question: To what degree will sleet and rain cut into snow totals. A warm layer aloft may keep snowfall totals under six inches.
-At this time, three to seven inches of snow is expected to fall over the area on Tuesday.
-Most of the snow is expected to fall between 9AM Tuesday and 7PM Tuesday.
The WGN Weather Center is monitoring the storm around the clock as it develops. Storm track and snowfall projections will be updated later this evening.
