Snow band exiting Chicago area

At 3:30 pm latest radar trends show that the band of  snow that swept across the Chicago area this afternoon is rapidly exiting the area after depositing a quick 1/2 to 1 inch accumulation. Improving conditions are expected the rest of the afternoon into this evening.

A  from Merrillville in northwest Indiana indicated 0.3 inch  of snow in 30 minutes.
