99 year old record falls

At 6:50AM the thermometer at O'Hare Airport, Chicago's official reporting station, reached 60 degrees.   This establishes a new record high for this date, surpassing the old record of 59 degrees set in 1914.

 

At 10:55AM, the official Chicago temperature has risen to 61 degrees.

 

The all-time warmest January temperature ever recorded in Chicago is 67 degrees, a mark set on January 25th, 1950.
