Snow winding down and transitioning to drizzle- slick spots could develop where temperatures are below freezing

The Chicago area's brief burst of snow this afternoon is winding down after accumulations of nearly an inc across the far south portions of the Metro area to less than half an inch so far across the north. Many areas are reporting that drizzle is occurring as the snow ends.

Temperatures are hovering near freezing, and while main roads should just be wet slick spots could develop as the evening wear on and temperatures drop below 32 degrees, especially on walkways and lesser traveled areas away from the city. Some freezing drizzle may also occur  Motorists and pedestrians should be alert for slippery conditions.

 

Some late snowfall reports

Oak Brook 0.3 inches

Arlington Heights 0.3 inches

St. Charles 0.3 inches

O'Hare International Airport  0.4 inches- Season total now stands at 1.3 inches.
