============================================================
Snow is developing across the Chicago Metro area this afternoon as a weather disturbance passes across the Midwest. With air temperatures initially in the middle and upper 30s the snow will melt at first but as temperateness fall into the lower 30s the snow will begin to accumulate especially on grassy areas. Accumulations will be minor , generally in the range of 1/2 to 1 inch, but some slippery spots could develop on lesser traveled roads later this afternoon. In most winters, a snowfall this minor wouldn't garner much attention, but with this season's lack of snowfall, the city could be looking at its biggest snow of the season.
Some accumulations reported from the far south portions of the metro area so far where the snow appears to be about over...
Peotone 0.3 inche
Pontiac 0.6 inches
Kankakee 0.8 inches
