The National Weather Service has replaced the Winter Storm Watch with a Winter Storm Warning for Chicago and most suburbs . The Winter Storm Warning for the immediate metro area is valid from 3PM until 3AM Friday. The changeover from rain to snow is not expected to occur until between 3PM to 6PM.
A Blizzard Warning has been issued for portions of northern Illinois west of Chicago. The Blizzard Warning includes Boone, Winnebago, Ogle, Lee and Rock (WI) counties.
