Sandy’s snows whiten the Smokies

Thanks to Art Bocek for this series of  great shot taken as heavy snow on Hurricane Sandy's western flank blasted the Smoky Mountains. The heavy snow closed the only road to North Carolina at mile-high Newfound Gap, elevation about 5080 feet near the Tennessee-North Carolina border.
