Sandy's snows whiten the Smokies

Thanks to Art Bocek for this series of ¬†great shot taken as heavy snow on Hurricane Sandy’s western flank blasted the Smoky Mountains. The heavy snow closed the only road to North Carolina at mile-high Newfound Gap, elevation about 5080 feet near the Tennessee-North Carolina border.
