A strong November cold front continues to sweep through the Chicago area this evening accompanied by rain and strong winds. Wind gusts over 50mph were recorded at several Chicago area weather stations including O'Hare Airport (57mph), Soldier Field (50mph) and the Dever-Harrison Crib (67mph).
Winds will subside this evening after the initial cold front passes between 6PM and 8PM. Wind gusts of 40-60mph will drop off to around 20-35mph by 8PM.
Showers and thunderstorms will blanket the Chicago area until drier, winter-like air arrives sometime around Midnight.
Temperatures will remain steady in the 50s for the Bears game at Soldier Field. After Midnight, a secondary push of cold air surges into the metro region prompting another significant temperature drop into the 30s and 20s.
While a few flurries remain possible after Midnight, their presence will be very short lived and no accumulation is expected.
Chicago will awaken to a winter-like morning on Monday with temperatures in the 20s and 30s with a wind chill factor in the teens and 20s.
