Yesterday marked the 6th day in a row with temperatures below average. This was the first time this year we have seen a stretch that long with temperatures below average and the first time since late September, early October of last year. We will bounce back above average today but the warmth will be short-lived as cooler air is coming for this weekend. A feel of fall will be in the air Saturday and Sunday in what is shaping up to be the coolest weekend since the middle of May.
The longer range forecast is also favoring cooler weather. The 8 to 14 day outlook from the Climate Prediction Center has the highest probabilities for cooler than average temps centered over the midwest and Great Lakes.
