Another round of rain and snow for the morning rush

By Mike Hamernik

A weak area of low pressure located over Iowa will race east across northern Illinois producing another round of rain and snow for Chicago's morning rush.

The precipitation is expected spotty, and concentrated over Chicago's southern suburbs. A few locations may see up to an inch of snow, but most of the Chicago area will only see a dusting to no accumulation at all.

In general, air and pavement temperatures are slightly above the freezing mark, between 33 and 35 degrees. Bridges, ramps and overpasses will be the most susceptible roadways to slick conditions.  Due to the spotty nature of the rain/snow mix, morning motorists are urged to be alert for rapidly changing road conditions.
