Tom Skilling's early line on Labor Day weekend weather: A cool start, a warm finish, with lots of sunshine and little rain.
In short, a nice weekend to be outdoors.
Friday and Saturday will both be cooler than we've experienced since June, with highs in the upper 60s/low 70s and lows in the low 50s/high 40s. Friday night's temperatures could be the coolest we've had in four months with lows ranging from the upper 40s at some places inland to high 50s on the lakeshore.
It'll be windy both days too, especially on Lake Michigan (where there's a gale warning for Friday and Saturday) with Friday gusts out of the northwest at 35 to 40 mph. Friday will be partly cloudy and less humid with a chance of a brief afternoon or evening shower or two.
Saturday will be mostly sunny. The predicted high of 68 is 10 degrees beloew normal.
On Sunday, the temperatures will start to rise, with a high of 78 and a low of 66, and Monday will be like most of summer has been, with a high near 90 and a low of 68. Both days should be mainly sunny, with only scattered showers over 20 percent of the area in the forecast for early Monday or late Sunday.
Monday could be windy, with gusts out of the southwest up to 35 mph.

Unfortunately, the warm weather will be returning. I wish we wouldn't see temps in the 80's till next June. I am really happy this Summer coming to an end. It has been unbearable.

"Looking nice?" I wish the 80's would stay. How about some 90's too. I love Chicago and the burbs and won't leave on account of the weather, but I can't understand why people like "cold" weather. It's going to be in the mid 40's for a low tonight and tomorrow night! Talk about cold - only 15 degrees above freezing! Ridiculous!
Im comin up next weekend from florida and i cant wait for a break from the heat!
