Rainfall totals topped two inches across several of Chicago's north suburban communites overnight resulting in some minor flooding. A rain guage in Island Lake recorded 2.23" of precipitation in a six hour period from Midnight through 6:00a.m.
A compact and weakening area of low pressure responsible for the rain will slowly drift east of the Chicago area later today, bringing most of the rain to an end by the Noon hour.
